Well, as we record this podcast, Ms Machado is still thought to be heading to the Norwegian capital.

In her earlier message, she said she was very grateful to the many people who risked their lives so I could get to Oslo and indicated she was getting on a plane.

Her daughter said she would return to Venezuela very soon.

But that will not be easy, as I heard from our Latin America editor, Vanessa Buschlutter.
