He was happier, so it calmed him down, and that was really, really helpful for the kids.

I could be making that up, but I know he settled down.

Absolutely not.
Where he turned and why he started becoming more disrespectful, I have no idea.
That's why I thought he was unhappy.
But I think it had to do with responsibility.
Do men get scared when they have responsibility in kids?
Do they become terrified?
