Always good to be with you, my friend.
Listen, we talked about the Rays the other day and my expectations for this baseball team, and it led to a discussion about how when I do write the book about my life, it's going to be titled Happy Idiot.
No, I didn't see this team being what they are right now.
As a matter of fact, I came into the season with the expectations
offseason and they once again would be very underwhelming and right now they're the best team in the American League and maybe some people saw it coming but I will raise my hand and say I absolutely did not Shane McClanahan did you see him bouncing back and being a top level pitcher again
He just never knew when he'd be healthy.
The expectation was as soon as he was, he'd be able to get back into form.
And to be honest with you, I still don't think he's quite done that.
And if you look at the numbers, they're very good.
But they're still limiting his pitch count and making sure they're getting him out of there around 80 pitches or so.
He's not going deep into games like some of the other starters are.
So he's been very good.
But the reality is he's just scratching the surface of how good he can be.
But, yeah, for me and I think for most people,
The expectation was once he's right and he's ever right, he'd get back to being really good.
And that's what we're seeing so far.
I mean, it's got to help.
Anybody who went to Steinbrenner Field last year knows it was excruciating.
I mean, we had fans moving out of good seats into bad seats just to get shade.
