And I just started to take advantage of it and take advantage of people.

And people started to lend me huge sums of money.

in the knowledge that I was gonna pay them back, but I just started to gamble it all away.

And of course I'm not proud of it, anything but, but what's really scary is that these were highly successful people who I'd managed to convince that I really needed this money.

And it also helped me in hiding the addiction because

Anybody who has a gambling problem, people just view it as a financial problem.

So because I always had money and was able to buy things and do things, nobody ever thought I had a serious gambling problem because if I did, I wouldn't have any money.

The difference was it was other people's money.

But the whole time I wasn't thinking about what the consequences would be and I was just building up debt and debt and debt.

To the point where when it all came to a head, I mean, I had an extraordinary amount of debt that I'll now rightly have to spend the rest of my life paying back.

But at the time, I didn't think about it.

anywhere between £100 and £10,000.

Right, £113.

Yeah, it was mad.

I sort of smile about it now because it's just hard to believe, but it was like a full-time job.

Yeah, of lying.

Yeah, basically.

And also that became a bit of an addiction in itself in a sadistic way.

It was like, how am I getting away with this?

So I'm going to keep doing it.
