The brain, frankly, is the last medical frontier.
If you were to think about an existential crisis for a country, aside from the environment and our political process, it would be the fact that if we don't do something about Alzheimer's, if we don't do something about autism, if we don't do something about addiction, they're all brain-related.
If we don't have a moonshot
to map the brain, understand the circuitry, use all of the technology, understand all the systems analysis from genetics to proteomics to metabolomics to phenomics, and start to do that tough work that we have the capacity to do today, we're going to only see health care costs continue to skyrocket.
And we're not going to see the healthcare system really deliver on health for our people if we don't tackle this last frontier of medicine, and that's brain health and treating brain illnesses.
Thank you, Erica.
It's great to be with you.
