has accepted that as a basis for talks.

So it does seem we are still some way apart.
even on the very broad contours of what is up for discussion this weekend.

coming out briefing the media a little later on, not as perhaps optimistically, but still saying there was progress and the Iranians are going to come back now.

Officially, Iran is saying that it's exclusively about nuclear.
They've, on the record, ruled out any discussion of missiles.
And we assume that the position is the same with regard to militias in the region.
But we did have from the U.S.
Marco Rubio overnight saying that that had to be part of a deal.

It's not clear why they might not be keen on Turkey, but it is worth saying Oman has been a mediator, a host of talks before.
So perhaps they simply felt that was more comfortable.
