And my brother had us two babies.
And so my grandmother, my Maltese grandmother, she just announced to my grandfather one day, she said, they're coming to live here.
You go and live in the attic and sleep in there.
And they stay in your room.
Because she was like that, my grandmother.

She was very clear about when she made a decision about something.
You know, my grandfather was, my mother's father was a very strong man.
So we grew up with them in Surrey Hills.
It was a rather large cottage that my grandfather renovated himself because he was a carpenter.
And when he bought the house in 1956, it was completely broken down and he just,
made it this thing that we grew up in, which was very, well, I thought it was always stuck in the 70s because he was very, wonderful craftsman.
He would hand paint all this detail on the doors.
And my memory of him is always working with wood.
He was a wharfie.
So that was his job when he arrived, when he got to Australia until he retired at 65.
