He's won a World Golf Championship against the best players in the world on a very tough golf course in Akron.
he's won an open championship with the league going into the last round and still held through and came through in that situation and we've obviously seen the heroics as well in the Ryder Cup so he's well capable of performing under pressure and certainly his patience is something that's going to be tested this week and if he can keep it in check and almost go into a trance like which he's capable of doing that's going to give him the best chance of winning around a golf course that's really going to frustrate him so yeah
Keeping the head on, not just for Shane, for everybody this week is going to be a challenge because these golf, these green complexes are very, very, very tricky.
Well, I'm looking at the winners, as I said earlier, you know, there's two common denominators of the guys who won around here.
Horses for Courses, I'm a great believer in that.
Preparing for the exam, I'm a great believer in that.
And Horses for Courses around here, two things that stand out are great putting weeks, great putters, and also guys who are dogged, you know, gnarly characters, just kind of give you nothing, just...
have that stare about them.
I'm thinking of Roy Floyd.
I'm thinking of Corey Pavin.
I'm thinking of Retief Goosen, Brooks Koepka.
You know, there's a common denominator there in the attitude.
They're gnarly, dogged competitors that are not going to get upset with the odd bad break.
They're in the zone.
They don't give a lot of emotion away.
They're not emotional players.
that's going to be a big key this week on top of really good putting.
So when I look at that, the two guys that come to mind, I think that are not quite at the very, very top level when you talk about Rowdies and the Shefflers would be Patrick Reid and Matt Fitzpatrick.
I think they've got the skill sets and the mentalities to win a test as difficult as this.
Well, we're certainly in the world of player power now.
