I would have gone no matter what.

It was brilliant to see women playing cricket in that format.

I had actually a school friend from my days in Palmerston North, Jimmy,

who put it into my reckoning and said, well, why don't you come and visit?

There's a test match on, and it's a women's test match, and it's a pink ball day-night test match.

So it was pretty much a no-brainer to get over there and get in and watch it.

Well, I think we always need to keep pushing it.

We always need to kind of hold New Zealand cricket accountable for the fact that they say they have pay equity, but it'll never be pay equity for our players while they don't play test matches.

That there's that lack of opportunity that has moved forward.

players further away from test matches rather than closer.

And I think that New Zealand cricket's got an obligation to women's cricket to promote and foster that part of our game.

I find that that's an interesting attitude because there's been so much of a lack of focus on 50 over cricket in terms of the way in our domestic competition that it's kind of sidelined and not well promoted and it's only T20 cricket that's been promoted.

I think that New Zealand cricket have to make sure that all formats of the game are well supported for the women as well as for the men and that there is a viable pathway for that longer format cricket and that more strategic opportunity for the women cricketers.

I think they do.

I haven't asked that many.

There's a lot of cricketers that would say, no, I like the shorter format.

But there are also a lot of cricketers that have watched Test cricket and see Test cricket and go, I'd really like to have that opportunity to really test myself in what a lot of people would say is the ultimate test of a cricketer to play Test match cricket.

I brought two things along here, well three things because if you count the bag.

When we played cricket for New Zealand, if we were selected for a test we were given a test cap and so that's my initial test cap.

So I played in this one.
