Right.
I could be the guy at the party who can come up with some jokes, who can ask you about the architecture of your house, who can remember the name of your dog probably before he remembers the name of your children, who can text even the next day and say, that was awesome.
Let's do it again.
But the again, Tom, the again gets me.
There's the rub.
There is the rub.
So I want to talk about what happens after the initial spark of potential friendship, after you've made that initial run at the friendship, after the honeymoon period of the friendship fades, and you're left with maintenance mode.
And I'm going to be honest with you, part of this as a person living with ADHD, that word alone makes my chest tighten a little in the scope of
Talking about friendship because maintenance implies consistency and it implies follow through and it implies remembering that the person you care about deeply still exists when they're not standing in front of you.
Yep.
And so I'm not because I'm not always great at that.
I would like to present an ode to friendship in five parts.
