The friendship recession.
Have you heard anything about the friendship recession?
God, no, that's way too, that's way too smart for a guy like me.
If you feel like your friends have thinned out, statistically, you are not imagining it.
Right.
I don't think you have a problem with this because and maybe it's because you're a guy living alone.
Your value is.
Proposition for friendship is strong.
Like you just said earlier, you make an annual friendship trip to see friends of the show, the Smalls, delightful people.
You never stop by on the way to see us, whatever.
So the Survey Center on American Life has been tracking this for years, and their data is –
Maybe a little bit startling.
In 1990, they asked this question, do you have close friends in 1990?
Only about 3% of Americans said they had no close friends.
Sure.
Three percent.
That's pretty good.
I feel for those three percent.
By 2024, that number had climbed to 17 percent.
