And they lay out this series of what they call canons or laws.

And one of them is that every single person must make confession once a year.

Everyone who's reached the age of reason has to make a confession.

So it's now mandatory to make a confession once a year.

And these confessions, suddenly priests have to get really serious.

Okay, God, you know, previously no one's really doing these confessions.

Well, people are, they're really enthusiastic people.

But suddenly it's mandatory, it's everyone.
