It finishes a different way with a different flip or a different angle.
Because that's the bit where you can get the reader to go, oh.
Oh, that's different.
And solidify what's going on rather than it just flowing through and becoming a good bedtime story.
And as humans, we are tuned to look for the differences, right?
Cognitively, we blank out all the normal stuff.
That's something different.
I need to put my energy and effort into that.
And if we just keep producing blancmange and vanilla stuff, then it doesn't have that same effect.
Our brains aren't going to look at it and read it.
I was in, I'm just coming up on that cognitive side of things.
I was in Spain about 18 months ago.
And what I found is that the roadside crash barriers have a little piece of metal that's sticking up that's black and white.
And in Australia, we have a bird called a magpie, which is about the same height as that.
And it's black and white.
So I'd be driving down the roads of Spain and go, there's a magpie.
Oh, no, it's not.
Oh, no.
Because my brain would go, that should be a magpie.
