I think 4,000 of the 6,500 employees here, she says, are on AWS.

I think that was a real string to her bow.

I'd imagine taking that on when she did a couple of years ago, put her in the frame then to take on a job like the...

general manager job in Ireland.

Maybe she would have gotten it just purely with the retail background as well.

But I think evolving the skill set by moving into AWS, it was an eye opener for her, she says.

And you'd imagine that's the sort of burnishing of a CV that puts you in position for these sorts of roles.

I mean, it is, as you just said, it's a giant.

It employs, as we've just touched on, six and a half thousand people, high paying jobs, like especially those AWS jobs are very well paid.

It's one of these kind of cornerstones of the tech landscape in Ireland.

And we do so much to, like it's in a funny position, we do so much as a country to protect that tech ecosystem because it's so high value in terms of the roles it has and obviously the tax benefits.

but also it and its big tech brothers and sisters are always in the firing line.

Yeah, I think that's true to a point, but I think to pick up on your point, it is inarguable that Amazon and, more recently, Shein and Timu and others have done a lot of damage to the high street.

How much blame do Amazon deserve for that is kind of a hard question to answer.

In one way, so much of it, because they're the market leader and they're the kind of trailblazer in this sphere.

In another way, it's just technological advancement, and to a certain degree, you have to get on board.

I think we talk a lot here and in the country generally about the state of a lot of our high streets, especially in towns.

Whatever about the cities, they get a lot of attention, but in the kind of regional towns, some of them are in a really, really bad state.

You can't put all of that at the door of Amazon, but I think it is inarguable, obviously.

The growth of e-commerce and there's more to come has been bad for the high street.
