At the end of the day, I think in most football clubs, a lot of things defer back to the head coach and trying to give him the support that he wants, the staff that he wants, the team that he wants.
And we work very, very hard.
My focus probably is more on the future of the club, which is the academy program, helping our recruitment staff, scout kids, bring kids in.
Bulldogs, we're not a huge junior league.
We have to recruit a lot of junior talent into our system.
That puts a lot of pressure
on education and welfare, on the housing programs that we have, on relocating kids, Queensland, New South Wales, country, New Zealand and those types of things, which we're doing.
We run a Harold Matts SG ball, Jersey flag, New South Wales Cup, Ron Massey Cup, sort of an age for every group to keep advancing their football and hopefully producing first graders into the future.
We've just seen the last couple of years a few debut players start to come through and I would like to think that...
accelerates and continues in years to come because salary cap management really relies on it.
Yeah, but that's basically it.
There's no sort of one person makes every decision but we discuss everything and then at the end of the day โ but at the end of the day, I'm responsible for it.
Don't make it too complex.
It's not as complex as you're making it sound.
It's a good process.
Well, that goes to the system.
That's the system of how we recruit and how we invest.
So it's kind of like, it doesn't matter if we're interviewing a 15 or 16 year old kid and his parents and his school teachers and all that sort of thing.
So we do, most of our team have been recruited on character and work ethic.
Anyone can see talent.
