And it's not enough to...
just to know why something is.
It's not enough to know that you're shy because you always got told off for showing off or something.
That is not useful in and of itself.
What is useful is doing something different.
It's changing your behaviour.
That's what's useful.
Changing your thought pattern or changing what you actually do.
That's what's useful.
But to cling on to your childhood
or indeed your diagnosis as an excuse isn't going to change anything for you.
So these things are useful in order to take the next step.
They probably get some comfort from it.
They don't particularly want to change.
It does take effort.
It does take practice.
Changing a thought pattern is a bit like building some abs.
You can't go to the gym, have one session and expect the toned body.
You have to go three times a week for 45 minutes.
And so it is with things like thought patterns.
