A lot of his imagery was around nature and love was kind of wild and transcendental and really pushed for that being like the purpose of being a human.
Keats, John Keats is my favourite poet of all time.
My favourite movie of all time is Bright Star, which is about his life and his writing and his death.
But he fell in love with this woman called Fanny and he β yeah, Fanny.
And he was too poor to marry her basically, but they had this like incredible love affair and so much of his writing became about her and the imagery was just so beautiful.
He really spoke about β
and like this idea of sex being fused with love.
There was a lot of sensual imagery when he spoke about her and a lot of like on her bosom and the stars and the sky and nature.
And so it was basically like, I'm going to die for this love.
And then there were philosophers like George Wilhelm, Frederick Heigl.
They saw relationships as a process of mutual recognition.
So you, to be order, in order to become your complete full self, you could only do that with another person.
So then that's where we get this idea that love is now tied to identity, right?
It's like not just emotion as well.
To be your complete and true self, you have to find your true love.
So this era really cements the idea that there is one person who is uniquely meant for you.
And this wasn't a dominant idea before, like you heard, like you were saying, people would, you know, have affairs on the side.
