The targets and what Rice does, I'm not sure they have that guy on the roster right now.

Yeah, I definitely think this is a proven year for Xavier Worthy, who kind of quietly, like after this year, will be contract extension eligible if the Chiefs were looking to do that.

He's got to take the next step.

I think you start with just how many missed opportunities they are down the field.

And look, I'm not sure where to put the blame because there are times that Xavier Worthy is definitely open down the field and Mahomes misses them.

And then there's other times, like Curtis was alluding to, where Xavier Worthy doesn't have the spatial awareness to get his feet inbounds.

That's a part of his game that we've just not really seen the Chiefs unlock.

And then his best stretch down the stretch in the 2025 season or the 2024 season was when he was more of a gadget player, a guy that they were kind of plugging into some of the Rasheed Rice stuff.

I think the Chiefs have to be a little bit more willing to use him over the middle of the field.

If you go back to what he did at Texas, yes, he could do some of the gadget stuff, but he did real receiver stuff.

I mean, one of my comps for him coming out of Texas was Devontae Smith.

He's not as gifted as a route runner and isn't as strong at the catch point as Devontae Smith, who obviously won a Heisman and is an incredible player at the catch point.

But I think they've got to be more willing to use him over the middle of the field and take the injury risk at what it is.

Because him just being a downfield weapon, it's not come to fruition.

And I think he's okay as a gadget player, but you know he's not going to be able to break tackles.

And for what he is as far as speed-wise, he's not incredibly shifty.

So he's just not going to juke players out of their shoes.

So that's the spot that I think this year we've got to see another step be taken.

And I certainly think the injury, I mean, I think I saw in some of the social media clips that the Chiefs put out yesterday of OTAs, he's still in a non-contact jersey because he had that shoulder injury in January and had this repair on it.

So they've definitely got to unlock him down the field more.
