I get to make a difference to people that have had a really difficult journey.
Yes, I mean, I've been in the clinic now over 20 years and, you know, I've seen these patients go from children to adults.
Yeah, it's rather depressing actually when they walk in.
I go, oh my goodness, I feel really old.
It makes you feel old, yes.
I mean, someone living with lymphedema is not going to always be having an easy time.
I think regardless of what your diagnosis is, when you have a chronic health condition, it's going to be a challenge.
You're living with something that currently is incurable, as is the case for lymphedema.
We don't have a pill or an operation proven cure.
So we have to encourage our patients to self-manage their condition.
They've got to take responsibility.
They've got to do the treatment every day, wear their compression garments.
They've got to learn to live with it.
And that's hard physically and psychologically.
And depending where your lymphedema is sometimes, you know, that can play a role.
