We were supposed to do a concert in South Africa with Nelson Mandela.
But when James Brown died, he went back for that funeral.
Then that didn't happen.
But yeah, he spent most of his time up in Westmeath.
He spent a short time in Cork, I know.
What conversations did you have about paedophilia?
Okay, it's an unusual one, really.
And you remember those children that were attacked and firebombed by a gang in Limerick when the mother was going to court and the children were badly burned.
And he wanted to go into Crumlin to see the children because I'd worked in Crumlin and I still knew a lot of the doctors.
And I told him it wasn't actually a good idea.
And I said, well, number one, people will know that you're in Ireland and you'll give away your location.
But number two, you've got that whole thing of paedophilia hanging over you.
And he looked back at me and he said, he said something very unusual that I haven't told too many people.
He didn't actually ask me, do you think I am a paedophile?
But he actually said something very unusual.
He turned around and said to me,
Would you say that to Jesus if he was sitting in front of you?
So make of it what you will.
That's what he said to me.
