You are a person inside, like the soul inside of you, the character inside of you is the person actually handling it.

And when your character changes and you become a selfless person through the act of generosity and giving, there is such joy and such meaning and purpose in that.

And it really does create, I think, a level of depth in your life when you get to ongoingly experience that generosity.
