Rachel Shannon

Albans, Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom on August 29th, 1982 to parents Kevin and Kathleen Dennehy and she was the oldest of two daughters with her baby sister Maria being born two years after Joanna.

Kevin, her father, worked as a security guard while Kathleen worked as a grocery store manager.

The family raised their two girls in a nice four-bedroom home in Harpenden.

By all accounts, Joanna had a normal, decent, middle-class upbringing.

She did well in school growing up, getting along with her teachers and her peers.

She was interested in history, but she wasn't too good at math.

She was active and loved playing rough and tumble sports like hockey.

She loved music, taking private music lessons growing up.

She loved animals, saying that she probably loved dogs more than humans, and that is something I can definitely relate to.

Kathleen and Kevin loved their daughters and did everything in their power to give them the best lives possible.

They always dreamed of their little Joanna growing up, going to college, and becoming a lawyer.

However, in 1996, when Joanna was only 14 years old, she met an 18 year old boy who just was not good news.

this 18 year old was a fairground worker who was on the run from his home life so she decided to run away with him as well of course kathleen and kevin were just terrified and devastated that their young daughter left their home at such a young age and so they set out to find her just a short time later they found her at a nearby milton keynes hotel and they brought her home kicking and screaming

This little stint seemed to be the first event that transformed Joanna from a straight edge good girl who didn't want to cause any trouble to a rebellious teen who fell into a very dangerous crowd.

By the time Joanna started high school, she started associating herself with older boys who got her into things like alcohol, weed, and cocaine.

She started to show very self-destructive behaviors.

She was rebellious, and she started to really push back against authority figures like her parents, which caused constant arguing and acting out.

Kathleen and Kevin did everything they could to rein her in and get her under control.

They tried everything from grounding her and taking away privileges to sitting her down and trying to understand her and show her that they are only there to help her.

But she was incredibly strong-willed and pushed against everything that anybody tried getting her to do.
