They did a lot together and Joanna did have problems, but they didn't really affect the relationship too much.

But after the baby came, things got really bad.

Joanna did not seem interested in raising the baby and her drinking got even worse.

Then she started seeing another man behind John's back and at that point, John decided to move out of the flat that he shared with Joanna and in with his mother and raise Cheyenne there without Joanna.

That was the best environment for Cheyenne after all.

But as years went on, Joanna would end up back and forth between trying to clean up her act to falling right back into drinking heavily and acting out of control.

By 2001, Joanna broke up with this other man that she was cheating on John with and John somehow found it in his heart to forgive her.

and take her back.

She got a new job at that point, and she seemed to be getting her life back together.

The couple moved back in together, and things seemed to be going very well for a while.

But, as you can expect, the stability did not last long.

She started drinking heavily again, and the relationship became very strained once again.

According to John, there were days that Joanna would be out drinking all day and then she would come home and start screaming at John, becoming physically violent with him.

She would start smashing things and hitting him and just created a nasty toxic environment for John and Cheyenne.

John got to the point where he was terrified of Joanne and he was afraid of how her behavior was impacting their young daughter.

The couple lived in this environment together for almost two years.

By 2003, in one of Joanne's fits of rage, she shoved Cheyenne, causing her to almost fall down the stairs.

That was the final straw for John at that point, so he immediately took his daughter and left the home.

He moved back in with his mom and cut off all contact with Joanne.

For the next year and a half, he was free of Joanne.
