Things became more stable for them and he was able to raise his daughter alongside his mother and make this a safe environment for his daughter.
By early 2004, Joanne went to prison after committing a violent attack on a man.
At that point, she had been committed to a mental health center and was diagnosed as having a psychotic mental disorder.
She was diagnosed as being highly emotional and prone to unpredictable behavioral explosions.
That same year, she was released from prison and her parents agreed to let the now 22-year-old Joanna come back to live with them.
But her destructive behaviors continued and got even worse.
She would bring random men into the home and have sex with them out in the back lawn and this new escapade caused $3,000 worth of damage to the family's new backyard greenhouse and I imagine that just her behaviors in general was causing a lot of damage to the home in general and to her parents.
After that, Kevin and Kathleen reached back out to John to see if he would be willing to take Joanna back and give their relationship yet another go.
And according to John, he really did love Joanna.
He described that she was once a sweet, kind young woman and he knew that these abusive, toxic behaviors were caused by her drug and alcohol use.
So he was really hopeful that if he could get her away from these negative influences in her life, that maybe she could clean up her act.
And for the year that followed, things seemed to be better.
Things calmed down.
Then by 2006, Joanna fell pregnant again and gave birth to her second daughter.
And I don't think the name of her second daughter has ever been released because I haven't been able to find it.
And even the book that I read about this case didn't mention the name.
But either way, after the birth of her second child, John said that Joanna continued to show no maternal instinct.
She had no interest in looking after her daughters.
She wouldn't hug them or kiss them.
She refused to feed them or put them to bed.
