He begged her to just leave him alone, but she didn't.

She pursued.

She wasn't showing any emotion at that point.

John said that she didn't appear to be enjoying herself.

She was just going about business.

He fell to the ground as the attack continued and it got to the point that he was just lying on the ground waiting for the attack to stop.

Joanne was relentless.

She was on top of him, stabbing him.

As people in the area started to come out to see what was going on and to try to go help John, Joanne felt that her attack had sufficed and she stopped.

She believed that she had done enough to kill him.

So she fled the scene, but not before grabbing poor Archie and taking him with her in that car.

And then they drove away.

At that point, people in the area rushed over to John to help him in any way they could.

He was then airlifted to Birmingham Hospital, where he was treated after being stabbed 30 times.

He had deep wounds to his abdomen and back with both lungs collapsing.

He had a perforated bowel, nine fractured ribs, and severe wounds on his arms from fighting back, and he had severe nerve damage to his hands and arms.

Because of how quickly care was given to John, he did thankfully survive as well.

But because of the extent of his injuries, he was never able to play the guitar ever again, which had been his favorite instrument to play as a musician.

But even with all of this, thankfully, his dog Archie was returned to him safe and unharmed.
