aka confirm that she was lying, but she ended up declining after speaking with her lawyer.
Now, after this whole interview with Madison where she admitted to what happened and finally admitted that she knew where Oakley was, she directed officers to that abandoned home in Martinsville.
Madison stayed in the car while officers went inside to look.
Now, when I say that it's a dilapidated house, I am not exaggerating.
According to the affidavit filed in this case, it was basically down to the wooden structure and it was barely held together.
It was not a livable house by any means.
Clearly, no one had been inside that house in a very long time.
Once officers made their way inside, they were immediately met with the strong smell of decomposition.
They made their way through the kitchen and into the living room where they saw a dresser leaning against the wall.
As they neared the dresser, the smell just got stronger.
They felt that the body was likely in the bottom drawer, but the dresser was so old and run down that the officers had to carefully pull apart the top drawers to avoid the whole thing collapsing upon itself.
But once they did that and they looked in the bottom drawer, they made a heartbreaking discovery.
The decomposing body of a very young girl.
Her body was in very bad condition due to the level of decomposition.
so her body was transported to the medical examiner still in that drawer there it was confirmed that this tiny body did belong to two-year-old oakley snow the emmy did their best to determine just how oakley died but unfortunately that just was not possible she was too decomposed by that point to determine any cause of death so her death was ruled as a homicide of unspecified means the
just based on the story we heard from Madison as well as how she was found.
It's obvious that she was killed and placed in that drawer.
She clearly didn't put herself there.
but they were not able to determine exactly what killed her.
So finally, after all of this back and forth, game of cat and mouse, by April 26th, 2023, Roan Waters and Madison Marshall were both charged in connection to little Oakley's death.
