It will never fail to baffle me when parents go out of their way to take children away from the other parent only to abuse or neglect them and then admit that they didn't want them.
Why?
Why not just leave them alone and do drugs on their own?
Why do they have to involve the child?
It will never make sense to me.
I leave this case feeling heartbroken for Oakley, Zach and Colton, a father lost his daughter after being told that he had no rights to her.
Instead, a drug addicted mother who didn't want them to begin with was given automatic custody.
I am disgusted at the lack of action from everyone in that trap house and Roan's family members.
If someone stepped in, this may have been prevented.
I am also shocked that none of those family members have been charged with anything since they all pretty much played a role in helping Madison and Roan evade authorities, especially his mommy who refused to make her son accountable for his actions and literally covered for him knowing, allegedly knowing,
that her own son killed a two-year-old little girl.
But at the end of the day, both Roan and Madison are exactly where they belong.
I'm sick that they didn't have to take accountability for Oakley's murder, but they did get decently long sentences.
I honestly thought that they were going to get off way too easy when I saw that the murder charges were dropped
so I'm glad that they will at least spend a few decades in prison.
And although both will likely be out in their lifetimes, I'm hopeful that the other inmates know what they did and act accordingly.
But that is where I'm going to end today's case.
I know that this was a long, wild ride of a case that jerked us in so many different directions, but it was definitely interesting to see how it all played out and how investigators put the pieces together.
Now that you've all heard my thoughts though, I want to hear from you all.
What do you think really happened?
