He said that the night started out as normal, but they actually started drinking and that is when they got into an argument.
But he said that Erin was actually the one who became physical
first, so he grabbed her neck and he choked her.
He said that he didn't really know how long he choked her for because, you know, he just had the adrenaline running through him at that point.
But either way, after choking her, she was still breathing.
She was still alive.
So rather than just letting her live, he decided to kill her.
He said that no matter what happened, whether she was brain dead or just injured, he was screwed either way and he was going to be going to jail either way.
So in that moment, he grabbed his mother's hair dryer and he wrapped the cord around Erin's neck and choked her more.
he said he did that for about a minute but it wasn't working so he decided to drag her into the bathroom and he put her in the tub and held her head underwater until she died this was a process that he said took about 20 minutes and he just left her in the bathtub before he went to bed that night he said that the next day he actually went to the cemetery where his dad worked to just talk to his dad and try to relax and calm down
But as he was leaving, that's when he noticed a freshly dug grave.
So he went home, grabbed his shovel, and in the middle of the night, he returned back to the gravesite to dig it up.
He said that it took him about an hour or two to dig two feet into the ground because the ground was pretty hard.
And he also had to be careful to make it look like no one had messed with it.
Over the days, weeks, months, and year that followed, he kept going back to the cemetery to make sure that her site hadn't been messed with and nobody had found her.
As he was saying all of this, he continued to remain emotionless and he didn't show any remorse for what had happened.
But I will say that throughout this entire thing, anytime he made a confession, it was reported that he was nervous.
He would take a lot of bathroom breaks and he would often crack jokes and laugh uncomfortably.
Then when asked, Michael went on to say that the reason that he pled guilty to these assault charges just days after she went missing was so that he could throw the cops off of his trail.
Obviously this didn't work, it just made them suspicious, but that's why he did it.
