This time, after his confession, police had everything that they needed and this entire thing was caught on video.
But for the time being afterwards, for a little bit after,
They continued to wait in the hotel room and wait for Mr. Big to arrive.
But Mr. Big never arrived.
Instead, after four months of carrying out this entire operation, two officers went into the hotel room and they cuffed Michael.
As they led Michael out of the hotel room, you could just hear the betrayal in Michael's voice.
He said, just tell me one thing, is undercover cop a cop?
Just tell me that.
Is he a cop?

So, originally, Michael was being charged with second-degree murder.
However, after reviewing the evidence, the charges were upped to first-degree murder.
Like we said before, he said that he choked her out of rage and there was no planning in that.
So that does constitute a second degree murder charge.
However, he admitted that, you know, he choked her and then after he realized that she was still alive, he took her unconscious but still breathing body and he sat there and planned for a couple of minutes to try and figure out the best way to kill her.
Then he tried one thing and it didn't work, so he took the steps to try something else until he officially killed her.
It doesn't matter how long you took in planning to kill someone, if you intend to kill someone and if you put any sort of forethought or planning into that, that's first degree murder.
He actually tried taking a plea deal to a second degree murder, but that was rejected.
So the case went to trial and he was being charged with the first degree murder and he pled not guilty.
