He wore a wire and placed some phone calls where he spoke with Brian, Gilad, and Adam.
In those calls, he discussed different made-up hit jobs and lightly brought up their past one into conversation.
This was enough for investigators to find and arrest Adam, Gilad, and Brian.
After these arrests, Gilad also started working with investigators.
He too agreed to make phone calls.
But this time, he would incriminate Eric.
After all, he was the one who started this all.
He was the one who agreed with Gilad to do the hit.
He was the one who financed all of it.
During one of the calls, Gilad told Eric that Adam was asking for more money to keep quiet about the hit.
In response, Eric said that Adam also needed to be killed.
He was about to order yet another hit.
That was enough for investigators to finally arrest Eric in connection with the murder for hire plot.
Using all of the information I've outlined up to this point, police finally charged all four defendants with charges of murder for hire resulting in death and
conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and kidnapping resulting in death, among other charges.
Adam, Brian, and Eric all pleaded not guilty to their charges, while again, Gilad actually pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against the others in their trials.
The men all sat in jail and awaited their trials for the two years that followed.
By November of 2023, the joint trial for all three defendants, Eric, Adam, and Brian, began.
The prosecution argued that Eric enlisted the help of Gilad Piled after receiving the text messages that threatened to out him to his wife for sleeping with escorts.
Gilad acted as a middleman, involving Adam and Brian in his scheme to intimidate Will.
