Will and his sister had actually run to a neighbor's house to get help and by the time police arrived, Lyle had managed to escape. That was until Lyle ended up crashing his car into the main entrance of the hospital he was originally being held at. At the time, police apprehended him and saw that he had actually stabbed himself in the arm, which he got treatment for.
Ultimately, Lyle would be charged with the first-degree murder of his wife and was sent to prison for the rest of his life.
