I pulled a length of climbing rope from a hook inside the cabin.
I'd set it there that afternoon.
And I tied his wrists together.
I tied them in front of him.
Then I tied his ankles.
Then I tied his wrists to his ankles behind his back, so that he couldn't get up even if he came to.
He was breathing but out.
I stood up.
My hands were shaking.
I had a cut on my forearm that I didn't remember getting, probably from the splintered doorframe.
It was bleeding down my wrist and onto the dirt.
Not bad.
I could deal with it.
I went back in the cabin.
