I mean, like you can read the data and you should read the data and you should connect it and marry it to what your scouts say about what, if a player has some intangible, do they have courage?
Will they fight for a puck?
Will they, or is it just all off a spreadsheet?
Because that never works.
It never does.
And I find that
That those that rely solely on data disregard anything that a hockey person would say every bit as much as some of the old, old school hockey people discard analytics.
And I think it's both foolish.
Like the value is clear in both.
But if a manager, an upper manager is coming into the trade deadline and saying,
suggesting a deal, I would think you're probably got too many crooks in the kitchen.
