Covers the Cowboys, does a great job covering the NFL, many different facets.
I know he's at the East-West Shrine game.
We're going to ask him some stuff about that.
Garrett, thanks for taking the time.
Man, I'll never forget the ice storm in Dallas when the Steelers were there for a Super Bowl and they haven't been back since.
And there's mixed reaction here to the Mike McCarthy hire, whether he'll get them back anytime soon.
I wanted to ask you, Garrett, from your time covering the Cowboys, how would you grade Mike McCarthy's tenure there and where did it go wrong and why?
So even though Dak Prescott was already into the league for a few seasons, already showing that he was a pretty good quarterback, it sounds like he took that next step with McCarthy.
Would you say that's pretty fair to say?
the entire time because the defense was so horrible post Micah Parsons trade and you know I think McCarthy deserves some credit for that development limits you want to weigh in here yeah Garrett I'm curious because there's been some flack on McCarthy because a lot of people think that he's very similar to Mike Tomlin because maybe the offensive version of Mike Tomlin do you think that's fair in your assessment of McCarthy
Garrett, what happened to McCarthy's high-powered offenses in his three playoff losses?
I think he had 12 against the Niners, 17 against the Niners, and then just one touchdown in the first half of that horrifying loss to the Packers.
Do you think the ownership approach that Jerry Jones had made it more difficult for McCarthy to do his job?
I mean, we know how outspoken Jones is and how he wants to take over every situation.
Do you think it made it more difficult for McCarthy and really anybody who has to coach the Cowboys?

Apparently you have talked to Scott Tolzien down there.
