After the season ended, they hire Mike McCarthy.

They're going to hire a bunch of assistants who are familiar with Aaron, including guys on the offensive line and some other positions.

So they're not doing this for Aaron, but I think it lines up very nicely for Aaron if he does want to come back.

Yeah, I mean, Donnie, if the stated goal, as Art said, is to compete, then Aaron Rodgers definitely gives you the best chance to do that.

I mean, name your free agent, whoever you want to bring in, name your draft pick.

I mean, if you want to try to compete in the AFC playoffs again, Aaron Rodgers, even at age 43, which he'll be next December, I think is your best bet.

He played well enough this year.

um to get them there got him to 10 wins um you know obviously some some ups and down in that season but um yeah like Art said they want to compete and I think Aaron definitely is the best guy if that's the goal to compete for what though I mean are they really competing for a Super Bowl with Aaron Rodgers

I mean, Joe, you can make an argument that, you know, look at Denver this year.

Bo Nix is by far not a finished product.

They had a really good defense.

But what else was good about them?

The AFC is down right now.

Unless the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills figure out ways to build around your quarterback, or unless the Kansas City Chiefs find a way to discover that old magic, the AFC is probably going to be wide open again next year.

Now, I'm not telling you the Steelers are going to do what the Broncos did or what the Patriots did, I think.

That's a little bit whimsical given the state of their roster, but I think they are good enough again to get to the playoffs, as they have been for, what now, six out of the last seven years?

I mean, it's not a fluke.

Now, the window's likely closing for some of their players, especially their older defensive players, but yeah, right now I think they still have the makings

of a team that can compete in the AFC for what?

A playoff berth?
