The pithy way of saying what blitzscaling is about is it's prioritizing speed over efficiency in an environment of uncertainty. And to unpack that a little bit, it's that when you're playing games where we call in the book Glengarry Glen Ross games, which is first prize is a Cadillac, second prize is steak knives, and third prize you're fired, you have to have speed. And speed to scale.

China is one of the few areas where I've also learned blitzscaling games. And it's one of the reasons why when you look at Silicon Valley for the tech industry, the whole population of Silicon Valley Bay Area is like three and a half million. That's like Ireland.
