Nah.
Geez, Rana's good.
No.
So yeah, like on the week after the assault, so it was like Monday, go to the police station on the Friday, make the assault.
In between that, I'd been given two weeks off work.
And after a couple of days, my friends were like, hey Ruben, we noticed you're not at work.
What's going on?
So I round up my group of friends at work.
There's about 10 people and you come to this cafe and I'm like, I've got something to tell you.
And when they see me, they're like, oh,
have you got a new job?
Are you leaving?
And they're like all excited to hear my news.
And I sat them down.
I said, after the party on Friday, I was sexually assaulted.
And, um, and my friend Chris, he was like the head of strategy at the time.
The first thing he said was, what can we do to help?
And that really set the tone for what I would expect people to, or how I would expect them to respond to me when I was disclosing this sort of information.
So I told my friends very quickly, but I told my family very slow.
And the reason for that was because in the year of the assault, the assault was really just like the crown jewel in the worst 18 months of my life.
