Another big one is type 2 diabetes.
So this one isn't so surprising to me either and probably not to you as well.
For every one minute of vigorous intensity physical activity, you had to spend about 9.4 minutes doing moderate intensity physical activity.
So it's almost 10 times as powerful at reducing the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
And it's not that surprising because we do know that exercise intensity
really does drive a lot of the metabolic adaptations and benefits that occur from exercise with respect to improving insulin sensitivity and blood glucose regulation and whatnot.
But I mean, 10 times, nearly 10 times, right?
That's nuts.
And then the last big, I would say, headline here with respect to comparing vigorous to moderate is cancer mortality.
So for every one minute of vigorous intensity physical activity, you had to spend about 3.4 or 3.5 minutes doing moderate intensity physical activity to get the same reduction in cancer mortality.
Still underestimating, you know, if you're looking at the physical activity guidelines, underestimating the effect that vigorous intensity physical activity has on every single health outcome.
You know, I mean, it's just...
I feel like if people were to think about it like this, they would get so much more dopamine from their like more vigorous workouts where they would just be like, this is really doing something.
You know, this is really doing something beneficial for my overall health and for like the way I age.
Oh, yeah, definitely.
Definitely.
We should talk about that.
And I 100% agree.
