Seemingly that was news to some of the Iranians who posted an AI-generated image of Trump on his knees surrendering before Iran's new supreme leader.
Trump now says he won't, quote, rush into a deal.
Asked in a phone chat a short time ago by Jonathan Karl of American ABC if an agreement has been reached,
Trump said he could not talk about the deal, adding it's totally up to him, Trump.
Then he said it's only going to be good news, I don't make bad deals.
Meantime, off in India, Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, says... I'll leave it to the President to make further announcements on it.
So what do we have?
Yeah, the usual swirl of confusion.
Reports suggest the idea is for the blocked oil channel, the Strait of Hormuz, to be reopened, as it was before the war.
Whether Iran would control it and apply multi-million dollar tolls, that is unclear.
Then there would be a 30 to 60 day window for nuclear issues to be negotiated, while $25 billion...
US in frozen Iranian assets would be released to them, the very thing Trump criticized Obama for doing.
This is drawing sharp critiques, not only from the Dems, but also from a number of Republicans.
Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen says... This war against Iran has been a big blunder.
While Iran hawk and Trump supporter Senator Lindsey Graham says if these reports are correct, quote, it makes one wonder why the war started to begin with.
Another Republican Senator Roger Wicker, head of armed services, says, quote, the Rubin 60 day ceasefire with the belief that Iran will ever engage in good faith would be a disaster.
Everything accomplished by Operation Epic Fury would be for naught.
And Republican Senator Ted Cruz says he is, quote, deeply concerned about what we're hearing and that leaving the Iranian regime intact would be a, quote, disastrous mistake.
A Trump advisor then lashed out at Cruz, saying, quote, cool, Ted, no one asked you, bro.
So that was one response from the White House.
