Well, those days I earned so much money.

Like I got $42 a week and to me that was like probably $35 more than I'd ever learned in my life.

I didn't know.

I thought I had become rich and I worked my arse off and I was in a factory checking the hairspray cans.

You turn it up and over and then put them back on the conveyor belt and that's what you did all day.

That was it?

That was it and I got RSI within two days and they sacked me.

So...

That's what it was like back then.

You could walk into anything because there was so much work.

Well, I managed to stay pretty clean.

I was drinking, but I confined it to the weekends.

And then I decided to go back to school because I'd left school without anything.

So at Tech, I did the school certificate and a certificate of advanced education.

I was really studious.

I don't know how, this is how I thought I had my life in control.

I'd study and do all my essays in the week and then come Friday night, I was on that train from Harris Park and I spent the weekends up the cross and I got absolutely wasted studying.

and found a French boyfriend and we'd drop acid.

I ended up in Vinny's hospital so many times.

Like it was just two separate worlds.
