I don't know, it was midnight or something.
Well...
As we were walking up William Street, which we then didn't have a permit for, we only had the permit to what's now Whitlam Square, but we just thought, eff it, we're just going to keep going because the energy was amazing.
So we could see these trucks going across past the Cola sign or you'd look down a side street and say, oh, there's lots of trucks.
Didn't really take any notice, just saw them.
And then when we got to Alamein Founding, it was all over, like everybody go home.
So, oh, okay.
So we just started to disperse really and start going home.
And that's when the noise happened and that's when the big, really big, fat, drunk cops, suddenly they were everywhere.
They'd actually, like a pincer movement, had surrounded us so we couldn't go anywhere.
Every street was blocked.
And the only way out was Darlinghurst Road and there they were just waiting to pick us off.
And so people were getting pulled out everywhere, push me, pull you.
Someone threw a really heavy lid into my back.
It really hurt.
I don't know who threw it.
I got grounded.
Then I got pulled.
And I had a friend trying to pull me this way.
My glasses were pulled off.
