No GM is good without a good right-hand man.
Johnson is still looking for that guy.
Jim Benning's downfall at the end was his right-hand man was John Weisbrot.
It's a very important job.
Picking the wrong guy could be disastrous.
So I'm really going to be interested to see which way Ryan Johnson goes when it comes to that assistant GM role.
I loved it.
This new regime is saying all the right things.
I know they haven't made a trade.
They haven't made a draft.
They haven't made a July 1 signing yet.
Johnson's saying this week that Malhotra is going to be judged on development and culture setting, not wins and losses next year.
That's clarity.
That's something the previous regime rarely offered up.
