It was just a different looking offense yesterday, and I mean that in the best way possible.
Sometimes it just takes that one swing, but that's the hard part about, you know, I can sit up here, you know, talking to you or up in the studio set and say, you got to stick to the game plan, but it's easier said than done.
And it's easier for me to say it up in the booth than it is to actually execute down on the field.
And when you're told you need to do,
This, this, and this, and you will get this result.
Well, if you're doing all three of those things and you're not getting the result, it's really difficult to stick with that and not change.
And that's why the game of baseball can be so difficult and so challenging at times because you can do everything right as a batter, and maybe you hit 115 miles per hour off the bat, but it goes right to a defender.
And then the next time up, you...
Don't execute those things and you get jammed up and you break your bat and somehow that ball ends up finding a way in.
It's the challenging part of sticking with those game plans and wanting to stick with the process knowing you've got to keep the results out of there.
But when you finally do get those results and you finally get those swings where everything just feels like it lines up and everything is on time, you're thinking, okay, this is why...
we do those things.
This is why we do X, Y, and Z and whatever that might be because it's going to be different for every single batter.
But yes, to finally get those results after kind of grinding away and knowing, okay, this is what I need to do.
And then all of a sudden, pitchers are throwing it exactly where you think they're going to and you're on time for the off-speed pitches.
Yeah, that's a great feeling.
I love that entire top of the third inning because you and I've said this, we've been saying it all season long.
The Blue Jays need that timely piece of hitting with runners in scoring position.
And I love the fact that they got the timely swings when they needed them.
And neither one of them were recorded as a hit.
