So the last thing you want to do is, well, one, if it's a strikeout, it's an unproductive out, so nobody's moving.
If you hit a ground ball to the left side, Andres isn't,
going to be able to advance over.
So you're trying to do whatever you can to really hit the ball the opposite direction.
And I thought Joe brought up a great point during the broadcast yesterday.
It looked like Miles was trying to keep his hands inside of those fastballs to hit the ball the opposite direction.
So with that, when you keep your hands inside of the baseball, your barrel is obviously going to be just a little bit further back.
And what that can do at times is give you just a split second longer to be able to react to some of those pitches.
Now, again, easier said than done.
But, like, for him to be able to continue with that same pitch and not kind of go away from that in a two-strike count and just be like, all right, I'm just going to pull the ball and see what's going to happen to the left side.
But to stick with that gameplay, like, very β
intentionally trying to advance the runner over and not wavering from that is what stood out to me and why that at bat is something that a lot of people watching are going to circle.
But to your point, not necessarily going to jump off of the box score, but a huge at bat.
And in a bat, in my opinion, that kind of swayed the momentum in the Blue Jays way, and it never wavered from that after that.
Yes, congrats on home run number 300, George, by the way.
You know, when I watch his swings and when I've been watching his swings over the course of the past couple of weeks, and it was β I want to say it was the swing in the Orioles series that kind of like made me really look at it.
Now, granted, if you're not having the season that you want and the numbers aren't going the way that you want, you've got to try something.
You can't just continue to do the same thing over and over again.
But I felt like his swing was β
so steep and so short to the baseball that his hands are fast through the zone.
