Now, all of them were three different pitches, and there was the one that was called a ball and then ended up being overturned for a strike.

That's been a fun piece of this season, too, is seeing the strategy of when people use that.

But, you know, you go up there and you're probably thinking from the outside, like, why is he not swinging at any one of those?

But I'm like, okay, how can you see those pitches and then adjust your next time around?

And especially facing a lefty, you know that, like, those pitches are going to have more of a tendency to work into your barrel as a right-handed batter.

I believe it was a four-seam fastball that he took on the outside part of the plate.

A pretty good pitcher's pitch, but not necessarily one that I'd want to go after in an 0-0 count.

If I'm Davis, and especially with his power to the pole side, I'm looking for something that's going to be more middle-end.

And then he ended up getting that changeup the very next pitch.

And he had mentioned after the game that he kind of saw a lot of slow stuff in his first at-bat, and so maybe that was what he was kind of hunting in the next at-bat.

Yeah, and that's why I talk so much about timing, and there's more than one way to sit a pitch.

I think a lot of people, when you hear the term sit a pitch, you're thinking somebody's picking it up straight out of the hand.

Well, there are different ways to do it.

Yes, you can – somebody can tip a pitch, and you can know what's coming.

But one thing that I used to do when I was batting –

is to change my timing to where I was only on time for whatever speed I was looking for.

So now it's going to be different for every single batter.

But when you're taking some of those pitches, like to your point, when you're taking that four-seam fastball, if I'm not on time for it, I'm not even ready to get my barrel off of my shoulder, then yes, it makes that take easy.
