And it's his most gruesome painting, apparently, that he ever did.
And it's a companion piece to The Murderer's Sky, which depicts four identical bloody dying birds flying in front of a mountain of rocks.
So apparently the Belgian artist Magritte, one day he saw his wife eating a chocolate bird and he decided he'd do a painting of a young woman eating a live bird.
Evidently, he decided not to use an accurate portrait of Georgette, who's his wife, because of the graphic nature of the subject material.
I mean, he was known for making these very surreal kind of paintings.
I mean, Magritte's obviously really famous, but that's actually quite an obscure Magritte painting, probably because it's so sort of odd.
But also there's meant to be a connection to a poem by a guy called Paul Nuge, who wrote in a similar time.
And apparently the poem and the painting have been connected.
