It's possible that that Ray Kurzweil book, The Singularity is Nearer, is a great book.

The first one was great, too.

But he does talk about, he has a whole chapter on it, on the various pursuits.

It sounds from what he thinks and from what he wrote that it's much more of a data-oriented pursuit, like an information technology pursuit as opposed to a biological one.

In other words, downloading all the information that is us onto essentially the cloud or a hard drive.
