It's very, many nutrients, their impacts on physiology, on biology, ultimately, are context dependent.
You know, if you're eating a high carbohydrate diet, for example, and you are an athlete, like that high carbohydrate diet is gonna greatly support your physical performance.
If you're eating a high carbohydrate diet,
You're in a calorie surplus and you're a desk jockey and you've got you know glucose dysregulation Then maybe that's not the best diet for you.
So it's very yeah the I definitely appreciate the nuance and the context there You know niacin is also a vitamin b3 and niacin does elevate nad
It doesn't do it as well as Niagen, but it does it.
It has that side effect of flushing.
But Niacin has been on the market since the 1950s, and it's not in any way associated with increased cancer risk.
a fan of the niacin flush is there any benefit to doing that or is that just masochism disguised as a wellness habit i don't think the flush is an indication of something good and anything niacin could do why not just take nr and you you'll have really the the main health benefits from niacin is nad elevation interesting so you can only take a limited
amount of niacin and even the the amount that you take won't elevate nad as well as nr so you know i'm a fan of niacin too but nr's here do you think it's beneficial to uh consume dairy because of its nr content the the trace amounts of nr found in milk is so small
But yes, to a small degree, but not in a large degree.
If you could erase one BS narrative in the longevity world, what would it be?
That we can extend life.
I think it's reasonable to assume that we can extend healthspan, the number of years we live young, vital, sexy lives.
But I don't know that it's realistic that we can extend the number of years that we live at this point.
It's just involved in too many genes and too many factors that there's going to be any one thing that's going to extend it.
The lack of disease, the lack of injury perhaps will extend your life.
But, you know, overall, I think that people are looking for something that's going to help them live longer.
And I don't know that that's going to materialize.
I mean, humans have been looking for the fountain of youth since time immemorial, right?
