What was that?
Yeah, I think that's a really good point because, you know, in terms of culturally, politically, you're immersing yourself in a place that you don't have any sort of background in.
And you can read all the books or all the reports you want, but it's only really, I imagine, by being there and talking to people that you learn.
So it's almost giving yourself that grace that it's going to take a while and it's not going to happen immediately.

Just thinking about your own family, I met your lovely mother once.
You being away all the time, knowing that you're doing great work and that your, you know, your career is thriving.
But is that difficult for them to kind of know that sometimes you're in quite dangerous places?
It's like we had some Iranian women on the podcast recently and they're talking about exactly that, just the communication aspect, trying to, those things are just the ordinary everyday is the big part of keeping in touch.
Where's the person I love, the person I'm related to?
Are they safe?
All of that kind of thing.
And it does really inspire the writing of the book as well.
Just finally, you write in the prologue about the fact that, you know, as we all know, the world is burning, so many terrible things happening and it can be very overwhelming.
Like I know some people, a person who just don't engage with the news anymore because they're just
don't want to, you know, for self-care reasons and all of that.
What keeps you motivated and how do you keep going in the face of all of that?
