That girl escaped with her life and maybe that had something to do with Sean Evans deciding to leave Feathered.
But in the days after, the two men obtained fake driving licences in nearby Clonmel, under the names Ray Hall and David Ball.
And shortly after that, they left Cliff Outram's home and feathered, with Cliff driving them away.
That day, September 10th 1976, was a day that would, under normal circumstances, have been a day of celebration in the Plunkett family.

Later that evening, Sean Evans arrived into Limerick City.
September 10th was the day they were meant to sign in at a Dublin Garda station as part of their bail.
Wicklow Garda, Nicky Crennan.
The men were due in the UK to face multiple charges, including the rape of three women.
But by now, they were essentially on the run.
The detectives had taken statements from locals in British Bay and the car that had been seen by witnesses led GardaΓ to Feathered and Cliff Outram's house.
Guardia only missed them by three days.
John Courtney was the head of the murder squad.
Detective Courtney is deceased now, but he was part of the group that went to Tipperary.
And in 2012, he talked to Joe Duffy on RTE's Liveline about the time he went to Cliff Outram's house with the boots they had found in the woods.
Around this time, an alert was sent out to GardaΓ right across the country.
John Shaw and Geoffrey Evans were to be captured on sight.
